Robbie Williams has announced he may quit pop in a year and halfs time.

The 'Rudebox' singer told the Daily Star, "I've got to take the view over the next 18 months and see if I want to be part of the machine anymore, because I dont see me singing again.

He added, "I dont know where I stand with all this at the moment. Do I take things into my own hands and dismantle this monster and have a nice life?"

It will come as sad news to Robbie fans but lets face it hes never been one to shy away from a bit of melodrama and if we could put money on it we'd say the rubbery faced one will still be around in 2008!

The Robsters new tune Rudebox is out on September 4.
