Robbie Defends On-Stage Swearing
And he confirms he’ll go solo again after the Take That tour ends…
During his five-song solo set on the Progress Live tour, Rob’s opening line has been: “Let me introduce myself, my name is Robbie f***ing Williams.”
Following complaints, the Feel singer hit back with a blog post on his official website and said any criticism only encouraged him to swear more.
“I like swear words,” Robbie wrote. “I know they are frowned upon and the refuge of the uneducated but so be. F***, f***ing, can't be beaten. ‘Allow me to re-introduce myself – my name is Robert f***ing Williams.’ You have no idea how good it feels to say that in front of 80 thousand people. It’s liberating and a statement of intent.”
He added: “if you come to see me, expect swearing.”
Robbie also surprised fans this week by announcing he will embark on a solo tour after Take That’s current tour ends, putting the future of the boyband as a five-piece in doubt.
“There will be a solo tour and I’m not sure where I’ll be going yet,” the No Regrets singer confirmed.
The chart-topper sure is keeping busy – he also recently announced plans to launch a clothing range in September, named after his grandfather.
