Robbie Williams 'Banned From Radio 1 Playlist'
Station reckons that Robbie isn't 'relevant' to its audience...
Robbie Williams' latest single Candy has reportedly been "banned" from Radio 1.
The star's catchy comeback single is heading for the top of the charts this weekend, but The Sun newspaper claims the BBC reckon he's too old for the station's playlist.
But while the station acknowledged that the single was not on the playlist, it insisted that it was not because of his age.
A spokesperson said: "Radio 1 see it not as a question of age, but of relevance. They think there are acts more appropriate to their target audience of 15 to 29-year-olds."
But if the single does hit the No 1 spot this weekend, it will have to be played on Radio 1.
Robbie has already been discussing his next single.
