Thursday: Pop Shots
Robbie has Abba in his sights and Madonna talks tough, but all that really matters is the EMAs...
The EMAs are hitting our screens this evening, and though it may seem like nothing else matters, the world of celebrity keeps on rolling!
In the news today is Robbie Williams attempt to reunite old-time Dancing Queens ABBA. According to the Daily Star, Robbie has been in talks with Anni-Frid Lyngstad, AKA Not the Blonde One, and hopes to persuade the legendary 70s Swedish pop outfit to re-form and record with him. It seems Robbies attempts to win over your parents know no bounds!
Meanwhile, Madonna appeared on BBC2s highbrow current affairs programme Newsnight by lashing out at critics of her adoption, calling them racists, saying that people had a problem with her bringing up 13 month old baby David because his skin was a different colour.
When called to defend accusations that she had bent adoption rules in Malawi, the Queen on Pop said simply: When you have an entire adult population wiped out and no-one to look after these children, you have got to make the adoption laws easier.
Agony Aunt Vanessa Feltz has responded in The Star by branding Madge arrogant and calling on her to behave like a real mother and stop doing interviews. Strong words there from the Feltz-ster!
Over in Copenhagen, and no news report today could be without mention of the greatest party to hit the continent since, well, the last EMAs really, Justin Timberlake, the superstar Master of Ceremonies has kicked off the award show slanging match in good humour by joking that hes much better than Robbie Williams!
Ole SexyBack made the comment when asked if tonights party could match Robbies Close Encounters Tour, but went on to talk of his real nerves at matching last years host Borat. He conceded, however, that though Borat did a good job, he doesnt understand culture outside of Kazakhstan. Thats very true JT, and he also looks like a porn star nightmare, so we think youll be just fine.
Enjoy the show tonight folks!!
