Robert Downey Jr Getting MTV Award From Avengers Co-Stars
Movie star set to receive prestigious Generation Award next weekend...
He's one of the biggest stars in Hollywood thanks to his role as Iron Man in Marvel Studios' movies.
And Robert Downey Jr's work playing Tony Stark - among other parts - will be recognised next weekend when he is handed the coveted Generation Award at the MTV Movie Awards.
We've recruited his Avengers co-stars Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner to present the gong to the 49-year-old actor.
MTV president Stephen Friedman said yesterday: "Throughout his career, Robert Downey Jr has mesmerized audiences by capturing the humanity in larger-than-life characters like Charlie Chaplin, Sherlock Holmes and Tony Stark.
"He's a brilliant actor and a Hollywood icon, and we are proud to recognise his tremendous passion and talent with this year's Generation Award."
The ceremony next weekend will also see the debut of a new 90-second clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Previous winners of the Generation Award include Johnny Depp, Ben Stiller, Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler, Reese Witherspoon and Mark Wahlberg.
