Robert Downey Jr.’s Son Arrested For Cocaine Possession
The actor's son has been arrested after being pulled over by police yesterday afternoon...
Robert Downey Jr.’s 20-year-old son is out on bail after being arrested on Sunday (June 29) for cocaine possession and drug paraphernalia, officials said.
Indio Falconer Downey was pulled over in the West Hollywood area around 2:20pm, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
Downey was the only passenger in the 'suspicious' described vehicle, and was allegedly under the influence of drugs when deputies contacted him.
He was allegedly found with cocaine and drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Indio was released on $10,250 bail at around 12:20am this morning (June 30), according to E! News.
Robert Downey Jr. has struggled with his own drug addiction in the past, until getting sober in 2001.
The Iron Man actor told E! News of his son’s arrest: "Unfortunately there's a genetic component to addiction and Indio has likely inherited it.”
“Also, there is a lot of family support and understanding, and we're all determined to rally behind him and help him become the man he's capable of being.”
"We're grateful to the Sheriff's department for their intervention, and believe Indio can be another recovery success story instead of a cautionary tale."
