Robert Pattinson For Fifty Shades' Christian Grey?

New report claims the role is 'his if he wants it'...

A new report claims that the much-talked-about role of Christian Grey in the upcoming big screen adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey could be Robert Pattinson's for the taking.

According to HollywoodLife.com, the former Twilight hunk is a shoe-in for the part following the [uuid=8e7a4762-09b7-411b-b325-6a26b3c81ba9]departure of male lead[/uuid] Charlie Hunnam.

A movie insider told the publication that R-Pattz was author E.L. James' first choice for the part, adding: “It’s his role if he wants it.”

The insider added that the main requirement is for Hunnam's replacement to have "chemistry" with fellow star Dakota Johnson, who will be [uuid=c1e07700-a23e-4893-a6c0-a568e45fc238]taking on the role of Anastasia Steele[/uuid].

Meanwhile, a seperate source has suggested that Sons of Anarchy star Hunnam left the Fifty Shades project as he didn't fancy the intense "Robert Pattinson-esque attention" that would have resulted from his involvement.

The source told People magazine: "He dropped out of the project because he didn't want to be typecast."

They continued: "He didn't want the Robert Pattinson-esque attention that would come along with taking on this role."
The studio [uuid=8e7a4762-09b7-411b-b325-6a26b3c81ba9]announced the news of Charlie's exit[/uuid] over the weekend, blaming the actor's departure on his "immersive TV schedule".

The statement released by Universal read: "The filmmakers of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead, given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey."

Alexander Skarsgard and Jamie Dornan are also [uuid=8fe9b061-c7d9-4323-bca1-39243f68a56f]reported to be amongst contenders[/uuid] to replace the British hunk.
