Robert Pattinson To Play Jeff Buckley In Biopic?
The Twilight actor is apparently "obsessed" with landing the role...
The hunky actor, who shot to fame playing Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga, is said to have approached producers about playing Buckley in the film, once shooting finishes on the last vampire flick, Breaking Dawn.
A source told Now magazine: "Rob is obsessed with this project and is doing everything he can to land the part, it could be the film that makes him an Oscar contender."
R-Pattz has made no secret of his desire to start a music career, and according to the movie's producer, Michelle Sy, Rob has got what it takes to play the Hallelujah singer.
According to contactmusic.com, Sy revealed: "I've met actors who are keen on the part and Robert was one... The actor must be able to play music and sing, or at least make it believable he can do that."
Jeff's mother, Mary Guibert, is also keen for Pattinson to play her son in the biopic, telling the Sunday Express: "Robert is a fine young actor. I'm flattered he's been linked to the project. When the times comes we'll give everybody an opportunity to be seen and heard."
The likes of James Franco and James Marsden are also said to be hoping to land the part of Buckley, who passed away back in 1997 after drowning in Memphis, Tennesse when he was just 30-years old.
