R-Pattz Shows Off Southern Accent In The Rover Clip
Former Twilight hunk proves his versatility with near-incomprehensible scene...
Robert Pattinson might have been dismissed as a one-trick pony by some after his stint in the Twilight movie franchise, but his role in The Rover couldn't be more different to dishy vampire Edward Cullen.
The 27-year-old star shows off his acting chops as he puts on a very thick southern US accent in a clip from the post-apocalyptic drama.
The scene sees R-Pattz sharing an intense exchange with co-star Guy Pearce, in which the latter attempts to give him a wake-up call about his brother having abandoned him.
The movie is set in the Australian outback and sees Pearce attempting to enlist Pattinson's naive and needy character Reynolds to help him.
Speaking about the movie in 2012, R-Pattz told Indiewire: "It's very existential. It's really interesting. I couldn't really explain to you what it's about but it's sort of about how much pain can the world take and how much disgust and cruelty before love dies.
"I think that's kind of what it's about."
The movie will make its debut out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival this month.
