He named his new album Paula as part of his strategy to win back estranged wife Paula Patton, but Robin Thicke is now reported to have conceded defeat.

US gossip site TMZ reports that the Blurred Lines singer has given up his attempts to win back his estranged wife, who ditched him over his wandering eye (and hands).

After he listed their former marital home in LA for sale on Monday, Thicke is now claimed to have told pals that he's realised he won't get Patton back.

TMZ claims that a lawyer is already working out a financial settlement.

It writes: "Our sources say, however, neither side has hired a divorce lawyer.

"Thicke is saying he will NOT be the one who files for divorce ... she'll have to do it. But he says he's done begging and is moving on."
