Aladdin Broadway Cast Pay Tribute To Robin Williams
Genie actor leads cast and audience in rendition of Friend Like Me...
The cast of Aladdin on Broadway in New York have paid tribute to the late Robin Williams in song.
The recently deceased star voiced the genie in Disney's hugely successful 1992 movie version of the classic tale.
And James Monroe Iglehart, who plays the role on stage, led a finely judged tribute to Williams on stage this week - which has now appeared on YouTube on Disney's official channel.
He tells the audience that: "Yesterday we lost one of the greatest, not comedians, but one of the greatest entertainers of all time.
"We're only gonna do this once because we don't want to drag things on, and first and foremost we want to give our hearts and our thoughts and our prayers to his family - because he's a husband and a father first and an entertainer second."
He then encourages the crowd to get a lyric sheet from their programme and join in a rousing version of the song.
