Romeo Cleared Of Knife Attack
Romeo walked free from the Old Bailey yesterday after being cleared of slashing a man's face in a car park.
The former So Solid Crew rapper and one of his friends were accused of attacking Ejay Armstrong in 2004 after leaving a party in London's Leicester Square. 24-year-old Romeo - real name Marvin Dawkins " had been at the Cirque club with friends on the night of the attack. Armstrong had also been in the club.
After leaving the party, the court heard that Romeo went to help friends who had become involved in a row in a car park. It was alleged that he then slashed Armstrong, 30, across the face with a knife.
Thomas Engola, 27, was also accused of attacking Mr Armstrong. Both men were found not guilty after the jury failed to reach verdicts.
Speaking outside the court, Romeo said: "My image as a person, as an individual, has always been about peace and love " that's what I believe in."
