Rox Gets Wrapped Up!
She speaks to our urban blog...
In the interview she gets talking about everything from changing her musical style to being signed by an independent label, as well her new album Memoirs and the recording process behind it.
She said: “It was a long, long process; it took me about a year and half to write and about another year to record. Is started off in London writing with some producers, then I got all of the demos done and sat down with the label and we decided we needed to take it to that other level.
I just thought about all of the albums that I love, one was The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill and I found out that Commissioner Gordon was part of that, so I flew out to New Jersey to meet him and we clicked straight away.
"I recorded the bulk of the album in New Jersey then came back to London and recorded the rest will Al Shux. It was really hard sometimes, I didn’t think it was ever going to get done, but it did.”
