Royal Blood Won't Be Jumping On the Collab Bandwagon...Yet
EXCLUSIVE! As the duo release their second studio album, we ask Ben and Mike whether they're planning any musical hook-ups, where they look for feedback on their new music and more...
Royal Blood's self-titled debut was the fastest selling rock album in three years, and went onto earn them the BRIT Award for Best British Group, plus nominations for the Mercury Prize and the MTV EMAs.
The duo (yep, all that noise comes from just TWO of them) just released their highly-anticipated second studio album How Did We Get So Dark?, and if the pre-release singles, 'Lights Out', 'Hook, Line & Sinker' and 'I Only Lie When I Love You' are anything to go by, we sense more award noms come the New Year.
Speaking to MTV recently, we wondered if the guys have ever considered opening up the field from just the two of them, so we asked got any collaborations in the works.
Mike revealed: "Ben and myself, we’re the longest running collaboration of all time. We’ve been collaborating now for over 10 years, Royal Blood’s just the latest example of that.
"I don’t know if we’d jump on the collab wagon because everyone else is doing it but when the time is right and the mood strikes and the stars align we’ll be doing it."
Ben added that they'd team up with someone it if they have "a really good idea for a song and want us to be involved in it."
Watch our interview with the guys below to hear all that plus which is their favourite track from the new album, how useful Twitter really is as a way of getting feedback on their new tunes, and hanging out with Led Zeppelin legend Jimmy Page...
