The comedian was called 'Jesus' and 'homeless' at the event in London...
Russell Brandreportedly lost his cool at the premiere of his new flick Rock Of Ages last night (10th June) after being heckled by the waiting crowds.
The Mirror reports that Brand - who was joined by co-star Tom Cruise at the event - was targeted by onlookers who shouted that he looked like "Jesus" and "a homeless person" as he walked the red carpet.
Reacting to the taunts, the funnyman is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "I'd like to play Jesus, and wasn't he homeless for a while too?"
The 37-year old also went on to admit that portraying the role of a hard-partying rocker was difficult for him, as it reminded him of his wild past.
Brand stated: "When I was lying on the toilet floor I thought, 'Hello, here we are again... on my own'."
Speaking of how he prepared to play leading man Stacee Jaxx in the flick, Brand's co-star Tom Cruise revealed: "I applied the principles of how I learn anything. I started with the vocal coach and he just taught me the same way that preparing for a stunt, I work with the stunt team.
"I'm just learning how to move air through the body, 'cause really that's what singing is - developing those muscles."
He added: "So I learned technically how to sing and then I really had to find that rock voice."
Rock Of Ages, which also stars Mary J. Blige and Julianne Hough, hits UK cinemas this Friday, 15th June.
