Russell Brand & Robbie Williams For 3 Lions 2010

Let’s hope The Lightning Seeds still appear…

Russell Brand and Robbie Williams are set to sing on a new version of the football anthem 3 Lions, released for this summer’s World Cup in South Africa.

The pair have both already recorded their parts for the England song which will again feature comedians Baddiel and Skinner.
Three Lions previously hit number one during Euro ‘96 and the world cup 98. The song has regularly been sung by fans on the terraces since.
Producer Trevor Horne and original writer Ian Broudie are behind the new version.
Speaking to The Sun Russell revealed all about recording the song, saying: “I was embarrassed by how emotional I felt singing this song. I nearly cried. It took me back to Euro '96 - Spice Boys, dentist's chairs and Gazza's last hurrah.

“It's the only good England song and I look forward to singing it as we crash out on penalties. Then I will be crying.”
Legendary football commentator John Motson will also appear on the track.
