Everyones favourite skinny jeaned lothario Russell Brand has made the jump from presenter to Hollywood heartthrob in less than a year-and he owes it all to Adam Sandler.

He told MTV News: "Basically he came on my show and we bonded in a heterosexual way in that the sex was talking-he said come America, and be in films, so I went signed up to his agent and then met Judd Apatow."

Russell's new film Forgetting Sarah Marshall is released this Friday and is his first foray into US films.

He also revealed to us that he's in talks with famed director Michael Winterbottom over talks to turn his autobiography My Bookie Wook into a film-where of course he will be playing himself.
