Russell Brand ‘Watched Bodyguards Attack’
Star’s bodyguards accused of assault on eve of wedding...
The snappers, all from reputable news agencies, were following Brand and friends in a jeep as they toured a tiger reserve in Ranthambhore National Park when they were allegedly set upon by the star’s security.
Associated Press photographer Mustafa Quraishi said a wedding guest approached their jeep, punched the driver in the face and grabbed the keys. The other photographers were then punched repeatedly by Brand’s security team and had camera equipment smashed or stolen, he said.
Quraishi claimed the comedian watched the attack, after which the photographers were left stranded in the reserve until park rangers retrieved their keys and came to their aid. Police are investigating.
In related news, Russell and Katy have been warned that their wedding will be raided by police if celebrations get too rowdy, amid fears the noise will frighten native animals. The ceremony is taking place at the Taj Rambagh Palace in the grounds of the national park, home to tigers, leopards, hyenas and wild boars.
