A warrant has apparently been issued for Russell Brand's arrest after he threw photographer Timothy Jackson's iPhone through a window.
According to TMZ, the comedian is wanted by New Orleans police following an incident on Monday night (12th March) where Brand is accused of snatching the snapper's mobile phone and throwing it through a glass window of a law firm.
Jackson is thought to have been standing with a group of paparazzi and tried to take pictures of Russell before the 36-year old saw red and snatched his iPhone. Jackson later filed a police report for criminal damages.
In a bizarre attempt to try and justify his actions, Russell said he pinched the pap's mobile because he believed Jackson was using it in a way that dishonoured late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs.
Katy Perry's estranged hubby wrote on Twitter: "Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory."
Reps for Russell have since acknowledged that he had thrown the phone at the window, insisting that the Get Him To The Greek actor will cover any damage costs.
They also told TMZ that Brand returned the handset to the photographer after the police arrived.
