Ryan Gosling: 'Weight Gain Cost Me Movie Role'
Ryan Gosling has revealed he lost out on a movie role after bingeing on ice cream.
The Mark Wahlberg getting the role instead.
In an interview with ShortList magazine, Ryan explained: "I think the hardest thing I did was gain 50lb in a few months.
"Just in my own world, that was pretty awful. I stopped drinking water and instead melted pints of Häagen-Dazs and drank that when I was thirsty."
Thankfully, Ryan is now well and truly back to his former hotness.
He has, however, described beefing up as "pointless". According to Perez Hilton, he said: "... You go to a gym and you lift a heavy thing so a muscle grows, but the only thing the muscle can actually do is to lift that heavy thing.
"After a while they're like pets because they don't do anything useful. But you have to feed them and take care of them otherwise they'll go away."
