Ryan Reynolds and Rosario Dawson star in a new trailer for the forthcoming film, The Captive.

The first trailer for the thriller, which debuted at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, depicts a frantic couple's quest to find out what happened to their kidnapped daughter.

A bearded Reynolds stars alongside Dawson, Mireille Enos and Scott Speedman in the Atom Egoyan movie.

The film has been given a new official titlesince its Cannes debut, where it was titled as Captives.

The trailer also announces a release date of 5 September, but it's unspecified as to when the movie will hit cinemas in the UK.
