Robert Rodriguez is reportedly in negotiations to direct the Deadpool spin-off movie.
The L.A. Times report that the Predators director had received the script for the X-Men Origins character but was undecided if he would direct.
Ryan Reynolds would reprise the role of the wise-cracking killer from the X-Men movies.
Rodriguez is currently shooting Spy Kids 4: Armageddon but is likely to take on the Marvel project once complete.
