Ryan Reynolds Reacts To Deadpool Oscar Snub

While we were delighted to see La La Land sweeping the board in yesterday’s Oscar nominations (Ohhhhh, city of staaaaaaaaaars….), we were a little bummed that Deadpool didn’t scoop a single nod for this February’s annual gong-fest. Not even one? Come on guys… give spandex a chance!

The foul-mouthed superhero movie was recently announced as a surprise nominee for this year’s Golden Globes, with Reynolds tweeting that the cast and crew had celebrated the news with “a grotesque, early morning tickle-fight”. No such luck this time out then, but Reynolds has responded to the news in typically deadpan fashion…

“Regularly scheduled tickle-fight at Camp #Deadpool is still on” tweeted the star. “Congrats to all the nominees for these brilliant films.” Which is pretty classy, but makes us even sadder we won’t get to see a Deadpool-style acceptance speech.

Looks like we’ll have to make do with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone being adorable all over the place. As for our next Deadpool fix, we’ll have to wait until 2018, when the sequel blasts onto our screens.
