Rylan Clark has insisted that he and his former mentor on Nicole Scherzinger are still "besties".
Scherzy had appeared to make negative comments about him on Saturday night's Jonathan Ross Show, but the [uuid=c1a8d91c-0062-4ad1-a231-ab954fbd00a4]Celebrity Big Brother winner[/uuid] later took to Twitter to assure his followers that things were still cool between them.
Nicole had said: "I've reached out to Rylan a few times. He had that show and I tweeted about him, [I] wanted people to vote for him.
"He must be really busy because I've tried to hit him up a couple of times, and I was like, 'Hey. come to my show this weekend, G-A-Y' and he's like, 'Sorry, got a gig in Ireland'.
"Then I hit him up before and he's kind of an Essex diva. I've created a monster. I even sent him, I found a pair of gorgeous sparkly balls, cufflinks. I was like, 'These are perfect for Rylan'. So I gave them to him for Christmas and I never even heard back."
However Rylan was quick to claim that she had been joking.
He tweeted: "Just spoke to SCHERZY about tonight's Jonathan Ross, what she said was in a joke way! Thanks for all your messages but were still besties xx
"You won't break us that easily! And she knows I loved my sparkly Xmas prezzie. Love u xx"
And he later added: "Can't believe I'm getting all this sh*t on twitter, I'm fine, me and @nicolescherzy are fine, you'll all see once she tweets x #sherzyboy
"You'll all see in a min , this is hilarious. X"
And indeed Scherzy did appear to support his version of events with a tweet shortly afterwards.
She wrote: "Nothing but love for my #Scherzyboy @RylanClark! I'm so proud of u, n all ur work,ur #indemand! Love u, ur w/me in spirit at GAY tonight! Xo"

Scherzy last week [uuid=62eb866c-a0c2-41b8-9a74-807c91fc82ac]backed Sharon Osbourne[/uuid] for a job on The X Factor.
