Kiernan Shipka Explains Why She Has No Time For The Child Star Curse
The star of Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina grew up onscreen
The star of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has opened up about what it’s like growing up on screen and pointed out that she will always do her best to balance her working and private life.
Kiernan Shipka – who plenty of people will recognise as Sally Draper from Mad Men – is at the helm of the latest Archie Comics TV adaption and has said a few words about dealing with a fame as both a child and a teenager.
"I really just sort of experienced life to the fullest," she told E! News. "I took a lot of classes and worked on myself, and hung out with my friends and traveled. Having a life outside of work has been something that's been always very valuable to me."
Considering she was six when Mad Men started and fifteen when it wrapped, the now eighteen-year-old has opened up about what it was really like having her entire childhood documented on a television series.
“I'd take classes and vacillate between going out and having fun and being a total introvert, because that's kind of who I am," she told the Los Angeles Times recently.
"Sixteen was a really formative year. It was definitely a figuring-out period. Nothing new was quite on the horizon and I was sort of like, 'What's happening? What will I do?' I learned to at least try to live in whatever moment I was in."
For now, “that moment” includes lighting up our lives as a half-witch, half-mortal in the brand new supernatural series.
