X Factorwinner Sam Baileyhas revealed that pep talks from One Directionheartthrob knew exactly what to say to her to cheer her up. “He was just so sweet,” said Sam. “I met Harry’s mum last night for the first time and we’ve been chatting on a social networking site and she’s just exactly the same.”

“I said to her ‘you should be so proud of him’. He was just so nice to me, it was exactly what I needed.”

And Sam revealed another celebrity fan encouraged her before the weekend finals. “Elton John actually called me into his dressing room before the final started for a bit of a pep talk,” she explained.

“He just grabbed me by the hand and just said to me, ‘your voice is impeccable just go out there and sing you don’t have to worry about doing anything else.’”

And Sam clearly took his advice, beating out runner up Nicholas McDonald to take the X Factor crown. “It’s just been non-stop,” Sam said of the 48 hours since her win.

“It makes me humble to think that all those people were voting for me.”
