Sam Smith Has Met Someone 'Really Sweet' In New York
Singer has reportedly met someone special while working on latest video…
Sam Smith’s songs about unrequited love have earned him a whopping six Grammy nominations – but it seems his lonely hours could be over, as he's recently met someone special by the name of Jonathan.
Speaking to The Sun, Sam said: "It’s very early days. I’m talking very, very, very early days.
“But he’s really sweet. I met him on the video for Like I Can, he was one of 20 extras. It’s a surreal thing to be talking about because I haven’t even confirmed with him that we’re officially seeing each other!"
Despite meeting someone new, Sam suggested he may never be happy.
“People need to realise I’m never going to be happy. The reason I do what I do is because I’m an artist who is always going to be blue about something," he said.
“It’s just the way I am — I’m an emotional person. I’m going to go fall in love with as many people as I can and get my heart broken.”
Thankfully, Sam is “completely over” the guy who the album In The Lonely Hour is about.
He said: “We’re still in touch and friends. But I was the only one in the relationship. We never even kissed, nothing ever happened. He highlighted something about myself — that I was really lonely."
Sam is now reportedly working on his second album, which is expected to be released in 2016.
He said: “I’ve already come up with the title, the concept, the artwork, everything."
And this time, he insists that the theme won’t be unrequited love.
