Samsung Launches Galaxy S4 Smartphone
Electronics giant's new device boasts spec to challenge iPhone 5...
Samsung has revealed its new flagship smartphone - the Galaxy S4 - to the world at a launch event in New York.
The Korean electronics giant's new device features a 5in screen with higher resolution, a more-powerful battery and a 13 megapixel camera.
Going on sale on 26 April in the UK, the S4 will run the latest Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system and be equipped with Samsung's new 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor.
The screen will be increased from the S3's 4.8in to a full 5in - which will be rendered with a market-leading resolution of 441 pixels per inch (ppi), firmly beating the iPhone 5's 326ppi.
The front and rear cameras will be able to be operated at the same time and storing and filing of photos will be made easier, the company claims.
One of the biggest innovations is the incorporation of eye and movement tracking, apparently allowing it to be operated hands-free in conjunction with voice control.
And a feature called "Air View" will allow users to access menus and preview content by hovering over it with a finger.
A teaser shot was revealed earlier in the week.
