Earlier this week, the [uuid=8ff48392-06a1-4ad3-944d-500f4fe38450]couple confirmed in a statement[/uuid] that they had decided to call time on their seven year marriage, telling People magazine: "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,
"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition.

"We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

The Kiss From A Rose hitmaker has now commented on the split during an appearance on The Tavis Smiley Show, where he stated that there are no hard between himself and the German supermodel.
Seal explained: "We're just not those kind of people - we never really have been. We've never been attracted to [negativity]. Of course it's a difficult situation that we have to handle right now and it's never easy.
"In terms of our love and respect for each other, that hasn't changed at all. Just because you decide to separate, I don't think you all of [a] sudden stop loving each other. I don't think you all of [a] sudden stop becoming friends."
Klum's father Gunther has also broken his silence regarding their break up, telling Us Weekly: "We are very sad."
