Pink Accuses Selena Gomez Of Animal Cruelty
The Disney star's new video features horses painted pink…
Selena Gomez’sPink criticised the singer via Twitter and encouraged animal rights campaigners to take action. The singer wrote: "If there are any animal activists around Malibu – at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame.”
She later added: “Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions.”
Some of Selena’s fans jumped to her defence but the So What singer didn’t back down. “Whether u r a fan of mine or whomever’s, I won't stop speaking out about animal cruelty,” Pink tweeted. “I've taken responsibility in the past, so should she.”
A spokesperson for Selena has since told People magazine that the colouring didn’t harm the horses. “It was important to the production company, record label and Ms Gomez that no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken,” he said.
"A non-toxic, vegetable-based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising.”
The video shoot was for Love You Like A Love Song, the second single from Selena’s forthcoming album When The Sun Goes Down.
