Demi Lovato's documentary is the gift that keeps giving.

The beautifully and brutally honest film shows a woman and artist in her prime, taking ownership of her past and proudly overcoming her personal demons to be the most incredible version of herself, and it's resonating with a lot of people around the world - including former best friend Selena Gomez.

Their famously on-off friendship has been rekindled after Gomez praised the film, telling Demi "This was beautiful. I'm so happy for you."

"You always continue to be bold and real," she commented on Demi's Instagram. "I wish more people were like you. Love you."

While thousands - if not millions - of Disney kids hyperventilated at this exchange, Demi replied, saying "Thank you so much, this means the world to me and more. Love you too."

After watching Simply Complicated and seeing the 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer's growth, this full circle moment feels even sweeter.

Demi and Selena first met as kids while working on Barney & Friends and later became the original 'friendship goals' when they ruled Disney together, acting in films like the Princess Protection Program, but life got in the way and they separated.

Now both adults - who follow each other on Instagram again (!!) - we'd love to think they could have an even stronger friendship than before.
