Selena Gomez Opens Up About Fame: "I Can't Wait For People To Forget About Me"
Selena Gomez wants people to forget about her.
Selena Gomez has opened up about her time in rehab, saying that the experience has altered her entire perspective on life, love, and fame.
Revealing that there's absolutely no part of her that idolises being famous, she told Vogue that the day people "forget" about her will be an absolute relief.
Speaking out about keeping her personal life under wraps, she said: “Look, I love what I do, and I’m aware of how lucky I am,"
“But — how do I say this without sounding weird? I just really can’t wait for people to forget about me.”
Revealing that the attention can be hard to deal with, she added: "As soon as I became the most followed person on Instagram, I sort of freaked out. It had become so consuming to me. It's what I woke up to and went to sleep to.
"I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn't want to see, like it was putting things in my head that I didn't want to care about. I always end up feeling like s--t when I look at Instagram."
Selena then explained that doesn't even have know the password to her Instagram account. In fact, while Sel goes "under the radar," her assistant is the one who posts all her updates.
Wonder if that was on the job description?
