Selena Gomez MAJORLY Calls Out Elle After They Publish Unreleased Lyrics And Ignore Important Topics
Selena Gomez isn't happy that they published lyrics and barely covered her work for A21 and Coach.
Selena Gomez is Elle USA’s October cover star, but it looks like the singer isn’t particularly happy with the article inside the magazine.
The ‘Back To You’ singer took to Instagram to reveal she's "bummed" at the fact she opened up to someone for over an hour, only for them to focus on her unpublished lyrics and response to Demi Lovato’s drug overdose as opposed to her latest Coach collab and recent work for A21 (a charity which aims to eradicate human trafficking).
Sel posted a lengthy caption alongside powerful pics of her volunteering, writing: "Alright. Speaking from my heart for over an hour to someone who puts those thoughts into paid words can be hardfor me."
"The older I get the more I want my voice to be mine. This is all a part of my work within an industry that’s been around longer than all of us have been. The purpose of my interview was three fold. My work with A21, my new collection with Coach, and some new music."
The singer recognised that there is obviously going to be an interest in her personal life, but it seems she just wishes there was more focus on her charitable work and creative ventures.
"As I’m aware there will always be interests in one’s personal life because that’s the pace of our ‘social’ generation. I’m grateful for my position and I will always find ways to make my job more about others and giving back— all while having the best time with my music, fashion, film and my love for learning about the world that I’m eager to tap into more and more," she continued.
Selena then called out the author for spilling her unreleased lyrics, after they wrote: “I have to jot down notes quickly. She sings about cutting a man out of her life after… The hook goes something like this: “I’m drunk and I might as well tell you, Get you ooh ooh ooh out of my head now.”
"I’m a bit bummed but rarely surprised. Y’all know me and my heart. I can’t help it. So I’ll post some of MY photos from the collection and work with A21. My heart. And maybe edit my actual lyrics as you will all hear it soon 😊,” Selena bit back.
Oh, and she was sure to tag Elle USA in the final pic, just to make certain they saw.
Selena signed off by writing: "I love you guys to the moon and back," as she sent everyone in the direction of the A21 website to find out more about her mission to help stop human trafficking.
