Selena On Bieber Romance: 'We Made It Normal'
Gomez says it was 'super important' for both of them...
Selena Gomez may have stayed pretty quiet about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, but the star has now opened up to Spring Breakers actress explained that during her romance with JB, the media attention surrounding their relationship did not have too much affect on her.
Gomez explained: "That's not a factor for me because unfortunately you can't control that. To me, love is normal.
"Of course, you see Katy Perrylast night. She's so fun and awesome, but it's cool to see someone older believe in love too. She is all about it, and that's how I will always be. I believe in stories like, 'Oh, I met him in Starbucks'."
The 20-year old went on to confess that following her split from Justin, boys tend to not "ask her out a lot", explaining: "It does get really hard and stressful.
"My first boyfriend wasn't [in the industry] and it all sort of started happening, so... I felt bad. It's hard for me to tell myself to trust people and be open, because I don't."
Selena added: "That's one of the negative things about this industry, that makes you very scared of everybody and their motives. It's sad, but that's how you have to protect yourself."
