Hailing form New York City and signed to XL Recordings, the band - Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson, and Chris Baio – are influenced by both African popular music and Western Classical Music.
Few other bands manage to reference Congolese soukous music and the Cure in the same song (actually no other band does) making Vampire Weekend a unique (and smartly dressed) talent.
