This Is The Average Amount Of Time Couples Have Sex For
Not as long as you might think.
The thing about us all doing sex in private, behind closed doors is that there's no real way to judge if you're doing it 'right'. Yes, we know that you and your partner's satisfaction is really all that matters when it comes to getting it on, but that doesn't stop us wondering if what people say they get up to is what they actually get up to between the bedsheets.
While we're still waiting on a whole lot of answers, one thing we can tell you is how long the average British couple have sex for, all thanks to a new study from Lovehoney, who questioned 4,400 people about their sex lives.
The answer? 19 minutes - and that's 10 minutes of foreplay followed by nine minutes of intercourse.
While this doesn't sound crazy long, the good news is that 52% of those surveyed said they were satisfied with how long sex lasts, even if 23% of men and 15% of women didn't wish it went on longer.
24% of couples ideally want sex that lasts longer than half an hour while 66% want sex that's at least 15 minutes long. In terms of satisfaction, only 28% of women said they orgasm every time compared to nearly 75% of men, with only about a third of couples saying they experience simultaneous orgasms.
It's worth noting that this survey didn't touch on sex between gay couples and doesn't broach non-penetrative sex either, so it'd be interesting to have more of an insight from inside the minds of those in same sex relationships.

Now how about watching a video of guys and girls trying to guess what weird sex toys are for? Ok then...
