Shailene Woodley Has Officially QUIT The Divergent Movies

Say it ain't so! Shailene Woodley has officially QUIT the Divergent movies.

The bad news for fans of Tris and Four comes after previous blows, with co-star Theo James revealing in December that he too was leaving the series.

It had previously been announced that Ascendant, the next film in the YA sci-fi saga, would be a TV movie rather than a cinema blockbuster after Allegiant's poor performance at the box office.

In an interview with Vanity Fair to speak about her new HBO miniseries, Big Little Lies, Woodley said “No. I’m not going to be on the television show.”

It's not REALLY a surprise after all the dramz - and the VERY BIG HINT Shailene had previously dropped in an interview in September, when Woodley said she wanted to tell the full story of Tris, but adding, "I said that I didn't sign up for a TV show."

With its two lead stars dropped out,  it looks like Ascendant might have an ending as heartbreaking as the books - by not even happening at all.
