Even if the odds of falling in love with a celebrity are slim to none, it’s always reassuring to hear that certain A-listers are still theoretically down to date non-famous people.

From Shawn Mendes to Niall Horan to 5SOS'sLuke Hemmings, the following guys have all revealed that they wouldn’t be put off by someone who stalks their Instagram and heads to work dressed in their merchandise.

Shawn Mendes

The singer revealed in an interview with The Sunday Times: “Sure, I’d date a fan. Why wouldn’t you date someone who admires you? Isn’t that what couples always say? 'She’s my biggest fan.'" He added: “The star shock only lasts a few hours. Then they realize I’m just a regular dude.”

Noah Centineo

This might sound like a negative response but the first six words are mildly reassuring: "I don't close any doors totally, but probably not, because then it's like more of an infatuation with like, a position more than like, the person," he told E! News. "It can overshadow that, which is difficult, I would think."

He might be loved up with Hailee Steinfeld rn but the One Direction singer previously gave the thumbs up to the idea of dating a fan: “Being single doesn’t mean that you’re weak. It means you’re strong enough to wait for what you deserve,” he said. “If she’s a fan of the band then that’s a bonus.”

Jake T. Austin

In living proof that fangirls can achieve their dreams, the actor is now dating his biggest fan, Danielle Caesar, after she tweeted him for a solid year talking about how much she loves, respects, and adoreshim. Iconic.

Cody Simpson

The singer told J-14 that he doesn’t put any limitations on the kind of person he could fall in love with, and it all sounds pretty sensible from our perspective: "Yeah, I would [date a fan]! I wouldn't limit myself by saying I wouldn't date someone."

Luke Hemmings

The 5 Seconds Of Summer vocalist pointed out that the conceptof branding someone a “fan” is pretty weird in the first place: “Yes I’d date a fan. People talk about fans like they’re mystical creatures, but they’re just normal people," he argued. Well said, Luke.

Josh Hutcherson

In possibly our favourite answer yet, the 25-year-old Hunger Games actor wasn’t fully invested in the idea of dating a fan but also refused to rule it out completely: “If they aren't crazy, maybe [I'd date them]," he said. Way to stay on the fence, Josh.
