Shawn Mendes is certainly going to be the life of the party this week because he's just become the youngest artist in nearly five years to top the Billboard album chart in the States with his debut LP Handwritten. Go Shawn!
The previous accolade went to the one and only Justin Bieber (obvs) who accomplished the feat with his 2010 album My World 2.0.
The 16-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter who rose to fame on Vine, tweeted his thanks to his legion of fans saying "Thank you all so so so so so so much for this #1 album. I owe it all to you. You guys are the best…", after scoring the pole position with 119,000 first week sales knocking the Fast & Furious 7 soundtrack down to No.2.
