What is MTV Breaks?

Have you got talent, but need a break to prove it? Well, this is your year. MTV is throwing open its doors to give you the chance to show the world what you've got. We want to give you your first break – on a global scale.

First up – we want your help to make this year's EMA in Glasgow. We are after three talented people:

A budding photographer to work the red carpet - we'll kit you out with exclusive access and you'll also get to cover a Music Week gig, and see your photos in our MTV coverage.

An awesome camera person to shoot on the red carpet and film a package that will go out on MTV around the world.

A skilled costume designer to work backstage with our design team and create their own costume to feature in the EMA.

A savvy social media correspondent to take over the MTV Music Twitter account. They'll keep the UK up to speed on the EMA action through their live Twitter commentary.

These really are breaks into an industry so as well as seeing your work on MTV, you'll work alongside an industry mentor, who will mentor you after the EMA. We'll handle your travel and accommodation costs to top it all off we'll film your talent in action and air it on MTV around the world.

How Can You Get Involved?

Getting involved with MTV Breaks is easy. You need to be available for the EMA (6th – 10th November), be aged between 18 and 26, and passionate about becoming a designer, photographer or camera person. Only the talented need apply.
 
Here's How To Apply

To apply we need to see your talent in action – the deadline is the 19th September.

To enter for the photography break, upload a photo to your own Instagram that captures a moment about your day that you love. Hashtag the image with #MTVBreaks and #Photographer

To enter for the costume designer break, upload a picture to your own Instagram of the best costume design you've sketched or made. Hashtag it #MTVBreaks and #Designer. 

To enter to be our camera person, upload a video to your own Instagram - 15 seconds or less – that shows us how you see your world. Hashtag it #MTVBreaks #Cameraperson

To enter to be our social media correspondent, Live tweet along to your favourite MTV music video, or your favourite MTV Show. We need to see at least five tweets, and you'll have to hashtag them all #MTVBreaks. We want to see creative tweets that will convince us you should be our social media reporter at the EMAs, and will know how to generate the best content around.

A winner will be chosen from a panellist of experts.
