MTV is making a special Pimp My Ride to help tackle the growing youth violence problem- which will be shown this Autumn.
With support from EMI Records and the Metropolitan Police were gonna transform a police riot van (like the one above) into a pimped out mobile youth centre!
The vehicle will then be given to youth charity XLP who will work with police to take the van to seven London boroughs and work with young people. Tim Westwood will be back especially to present the one-off show.
The Big Dawg told us: I am really proud to be working with the Pimp My Ride team to create something that can be used by young people in the campaign to reduce violent crime. This is another positive step being taken to address this serious issue that is affecting young people across the UK. Well also be making other shows for TV and online that look at the problem of youth crime and violence to be broadcast in Autumn.
The Safer London Foundation will be covering costs of keeping the van on the road for the first year.
