Meanwhile, Robbie Williams and Elton John have been engaging in a spot of high jinks in Australia.

The pair happened to be staying in the same hotel in Sydney, and to alleviate the boredom decided to start playing practical jokes on each other. Robbie set the ball rolling by revealing Elts room number to fans live on stage at a gig.

But the Rocket Man fought back by slipping a cheeky note under Robs door, saying: Dear Robbie. Take That " Number 1 single and album. Great result! Love Elton.

Eltons partner David Furnish said: In a moment of irresponsible juvenile delinquency Robbie has stupidly announced Eltons room number to a concert audience. As a means of expressing his appreciation Elton informs me he has slipped a note under Robbies hotel room door. Your move, Robbie.
