Stephanie Pratt previously claimed that  reality TV show The Hills made her bulimic.

However, now The Hills star has retracted her statement claiming it was her own insercurities that brought on the eating disorder.

Spencer’s sister, who is currently on the front cover of US Weekly talking about her battle with the eating disorder previously  revealed that she hates her body after seeing herself on TV.

Pratt claimed the problem started when she saw herself next to the super-slim female stars of the hit reality TV show, especially Lauren Conrad.

Stephanie recalls: “I was horrified. I remember saying, ‘I can’t believe how huge I look walking over to Lauren.

The Hills star then confessed the problem got worse when shooting in Hawaii with co-star Audrina Partridge.

Pratt, 23 remembers asking Partridge: “What looks better, ‘shirt on of off?” when Audrina hastily replied: “On!”

Stephanie then added: “The producers never put pressure on us to lose weight, but its embarrassing working with skinny girls."

Pratt has now stated that it was NOT the reality TV show that brought on the eating disorder and she was already suffering from the condition before her stint on the show.

She told MTV News US: "The Hills did not make me bulimic. It was my own issues with self-esteem, and if anything, my life on The Hills has only helped me get healthy, 'cause I know how lucky I am to have this job and to have the chance to be a role model."

She added: "I'm the latest castmember to come on the show, and I look up to all of them, and I'm definitely not going to be like, 'Oh, Lauren, you're so great, but I'm a disaster,

"And so I kept it a secret, and that's when it's bad. The more I can stress about being honest, (the better). Again, you are as healthy as your secrets."

We wish Stephanie well.
