Rickie Haywood Williams
Rickie is the MTV News/ MTV BASE news- hound that brings viewers up to speed on the hottest music news, the latest crazes and celebrity gossip as it happens. He has presented news from the red carpets of the lavish MTV Award ceremonies to London’s biggest film premieres.
Rickie has also hosted his own week (with co host Melvin) on MTV BASE’ DJ TAKEOVER show, MTV BASE specials from Notting Hill Carnival, The Mobo Awards and SPANKING NEW MUSIC SESSION features for THE LICK.
The Kiss 100 Breakfast show was never going to be the same after signing up Rickie and Melvin as their new hosts in 2007 and it is clear after making Broadcast’s Hot 100 radio talent list 2008,rickie and Melvin are definitely stepping up the Breakfast show competition.
An obvious choice for youth programming, Rickie’s strengths lie in his charm and affable personality. He has also presented celebrity interviews for ‘The Hook Up’ on MySpace and has rubbed shoulders with Alicia Keys, Kelli Rowland and John Legend to name a few.
Previously a broadcast assistant for BBC Radio 1Xtra when the digital station first went on air, Rickie leapt at the chance to hone his skills, voicing trails for the station and hosting a weekly hip hop talent contest ‘The Jump Off’.
