Sia Defends 'Elastic Heart' Music Video Which Shows Shirtless Shia Fighting With Girl
The Aussie singer has taken to Twitter to explain the concept behind the promo after it was slammed online...
Oh, why can I not conquer love?
And I might have thought that we were one
Wanted to fight this war without weapons
And I wanted it, and I wanted it bad
But there were so many red flags
Now another one bites the dust
Yeah, let's be clear I'll trust no one
You did not break me
I'm still fighting for peace
I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart
I've got an elastic heart
Yeah, I've got an elastic heart
And I will stay up through the night
Let's be clear, won't close my eyes
And I know that I can survive
I'll walk through fire to save my life
And I want it, I want my life so bad
I'm doing everything I can
Then another one bites the dust
It's hard to lose a chosen one
You did not break me
I'm still fighting for peace
I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart
I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart
I've got thick skin and an elastic heart
But your blade it might be too sharp
I'm like a rubber band until you pull too hard
And I may snap and I move fast
But you won't see me fall apart
'Cause I've got an elastic heart
I've got an elastic heart
Sia has taken to Twitter to defend her new music video for tune Elastic Heart.
The promo, which premiered last night (January 7), sees 28-year old actor Shia LaBeouf almost naked as he wrestles and fights with 12-year old Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler in a cage.
Wearing just dirt-covered nude material, the pair battle it out (think The Hunger Games) - with the clip receiving criticism online, and some Twitter and YouTube users empathising how abuse victims may interpret the vid.
After seeing the backlash, the Aussie singer took to her website and Twitter account to release a statement, saying: "I anticipated some 'pedophelia!!!' Cries for this video. All I can say is Maddie and Shia are two of the only actors I felt could play."

I apologize to those who feel triggered by #ElasticHeart My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody.

The 39-year old star directed the five-minute clip alongside Daniel Askill, who she has previously worked with on her Chandelier and Breathe Me videos.
