Amanda Holden: 'SiCo's Life Was Empty Before Baby'
Britain's Got Talent judge says her friend will love child 'as much as himself'...
Speaking on Alan Carr's Chatty Man talk show - set to be broadcast tonight - she confessed that she had been surprised by the news.
"I was quite shocked, I mean like everyone else – we're all fascinated with his love life, we all are, it's natural, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
"But I think, I honestly think, it's a brilliant thing. He couldn't have carried on living his life as it was, because as much as it's filled with money and women in yachts and cars, it's empty at the end of the day isn't it?
"He's got no one to come home to. So now he's going to have a lovely wife hopefully and a lovely baby. I really think it's brilliant, and I think he'll be overwhelmed with how much he loves the baby – he'll love that baby more than he loves himself, and that's a lot."
But the actress-turned-talent show judge insisted that she wasn't using her friendship with SiCo to sell her autobiography.
"This sounds really pretentious," she began. "But I do consider myself a friend of his, and this book is about me, and there's a little bit about Simon in the book, but I don't want to sell a book off the back of Simon, and his business is his business, so he can write it in his own book."
Chatty Man is on Channel 4 at 10pm this evening. Other guests include Karl Pilkington, Michael Sheen and Jared Leto.
