Simon Cowellappears to have confirmed that his unborn child is a boy - but has revealed he has no plans to watch the birth.
The reality TV mogul is having a child with US socialite American Idolcolleague Ryan Seacrest on the presenter's radio show.
He admitted that anyone speculating it was a boy would be making a "good guess" and referred to the child as "he" before belatedly adding "or she".
Asked whether he planned to be present at the birth, he responded: "Are you out of your mind? There are certain things you shouldn't see and this is one of them.
"You don't want to go into the restaurant when they are making your dinner. I will be very close but I don't want to deal with that."
And he even hinted that marriage could be on the cards, saying: "Let's put it this way, I wouldn't expect Lauren to be a single mother."
