Simon Cowell reportedly played a part in the rescue of nine people who were stranded at sea in Sinittawhen the incident occurred, with the music mogul ordering the captain of his private boat to make an emergency rescue and bring the people back to the safety of his vessel.
A source told the tabloid: "He only did what any good person would do.
"If his yacht was in trouble he would want someone to come to his rescue. It was just lucky they happened to be close by."
Cowell is thought to have sent a smaller boat to save the passengers, while his staff helped pump water out the sinking yacht.
Sinitta later took to Twitter to confirm the days events, writing: "Just had a mayday message, 35ft boat sinking. Simon has sent us to help and rescue 9 people on board!"
The So Macho singer later added: "Everyone ok, no-one hurt. Captain won't let boat sink, petrol in sea etc. No tide, so hole plugged!"
