Simon Cowell Mocks Russell Brand's Revolution Call

Media tycoon says star should give up his fortune if he's serious...

Simon Cowellhas taken a swipe at Russell Brand's recent [uuid=6de4e7c7-b6e7-4975-adea-42620a68ed39]call for a "revolution"[/uuid] on BBC current affairs programme Newsnight.
The reality TV tycoon insisted that Rusty was being ridiculous to call for radical political change while earning a fortune as a film star.
He told Shortlist: "A revolution? He's getting $10 million a movie. I mean, come on!"
And when it was suggested that Brand was fighting the cause of the people, SiCo responded: "Of course it is? Well, give your money back then, Russell.
"I always say that about people. Start off as you mean to go on. Donate all the money back to the revolution and then I'll believe it. I'm living in a 10 million dollar mansion and I want a revolution? Give me a break."
But despite engaging with Russell's recent statement, Cowell insisted that he would not want to delve any deeper into politics.
"I get slaughtered anyway, but there, there's no upside," he explained.
