Simon Issues 'Public Apology' At Book Launch
Music mogul confesses he was 'mortified' over revelations...
Simon Cowell made an unexpected appearance at the launch of his latest biography yesterday and issued an apology for the revelations it has made public.
Speaking at the launch party for Tom Bower's Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell, the talent show mogul said: "I wish to use this opportunity to make a public apology to those who I embarrassed.
"I have to apologise to members of my family."
He added: "However, 10 years ago, if I knew someone would be writing a book about me saying I'd made loads of money and s****ed loads of girls, I would have said, 'Great'."
Cowell explained: "I spent the week under my pillow and banned newspapers from my house. I knew it was bad because friends were sending me sweet messages saying, 'Are you OK?'"
He did, however, shake hands with the author, who is said to have promised a sequel, and his sense of humour remains intact.
Simon quipped: "Actually, since my friends are all here, I want to announce I'm taking a year off from TV tonight.
"I'm bringing out my own book - the sordid sexual life of Tom Bower."
